    noah's tarp 12

I just ordered the Kelty Noah's tarp 12 - 2011 edition. any idea what makes it different from the 2010 version? In the pics, it looks a little more beige than the original, but thats all i could find. Hoping to pitch it like the person here who made doors so that when i am up on the mountain (Mt Rogers, next weekend), if bad weather creeps up (which up there it is known to do), I can pitch it with doors and be good to go.

I have been using a Noah 12 to good effect all winter. It is exellent at bringing in and setting up close in a tent-like fashion. This one was posted by myles to go:

I really like this tarp, but it is a bit heavy, and I am switching to a lighter custom tarp (10x12). But I will keep the Noah for a while at least....

Love my Kelty 12 as well. Not sure what the difference is. Did you ask the folks from whom you ordered? Might worth an email to Kelty themselves.

Can the 12' Noah be setup in the Winter mode as seen in the pics above or does it need to be modified by adding some additional tie-down points?

Was going to get the Guide Gear 12x12 but it sold out and I believe that one required some modifications / add-ons to the ridge-line.

I just started hammocking and ordered the Noah 12' for motorcycle camping and back packing until I can get a bit more experience under my belt as far as equipment and setup goes.

Weight is not a big issue at this point until I can get a better grasp on how to setup / break down camp using a hammock and a tarp.

the forum has proved to be a wealth of useful information, been sifting through the old threads for the past few weeks to learn
the basics and lingo / terminology.

    thanks....

That looks like a stock Noah's 12 to me - no additional tie outs. Mine is a 2005 model, but it has all of the tie-outs I can see on that photo. It's not ultra-light gear, but it's very good gear. You'll be happy with it.

My 2011 Kelty Noah 12 came in. Looks like a solidly built piece.

A few pics of the package and its content. I thought it was really cool that they included four plastic figure 9 loops.

I kind of like the off gray color.

Can't wait to try it out, will probably fold it differently to minimize its overall shape and put it in a smaller bag.

Got it on sale from the folks at Sunny Sports for $58.00 with free S&H.
