Pine Grove works for me as the trek to Gaitland is an iffy proposition for my mobility issues. It's close enough that I can bail if things start to get dicey like they did this year. I had a great time but was very concerned I was going to have a vdery iffy night if I stayed. Gaitland is a great place and I will be open to going back there is I progress in my recovery. But right now I am not as far along as I thought I was or would like to be.

I liked PGF very much. Definitely reserve 3 if not 4 of the group sites.
And it would be a good change up from Gathland in the fall.

PGF had a good ridge road to mtn. bike on. ATV's only on the ridge rd. with only a few hills. It overlooked the beautiful Pa farm valley for a ways. I did not get into the AT museum this time. The AT museum is an added bonus to the Hang out. Gettysburg is near by if you want to do a tourist trip, and Washington, DC.

Its closer for our fellow hanger(s) coming all the way down from Canada!

Great place, I'd gladly visit again next year......

I may even take a weeks Vay-K and stretch it out a bit. Do a few dayhikes and such.

That'll give me a chance to figure out how to hang my hammock correctly since I'm sure I'll still be a newbie at it even then.

PS: If I'm all tied up in my suspension when one of you shows up after me...... give me a hand and cut me loose please

Big fan of PGF for the spring hang but also like the idea of keeping the fall hang at Gatland. As for the date its good for me now and in my calendar but cant promise what 11 months is gonna bring . My wife may divorce me if I tell her I've already planned a hang 11 months away. She already thinks I'm obssessed with hammocks as it is...aaahhh go figure me obsessed with hammocks pppeeewww

After the poll closes I'll talk to "the powers that be" about coming back next year. I'm sure it will get discussed at the fall hang in Gathland. The sooner we can book the sites, the better.

I missed this year's MHHA because I was at Wood Badge training for Boy Scouts. I was the crazy guy in the hammock! So hopefully I can make the 2012 hang, provided the world doesn't end on May 21st!
