    nacrabiner vs shoft shackle

Ok, so I ahve been messing around with some Amsteel 7/64 and made some whoopie slings, some soft shackles and some nacrabiners. It is kinda fin to mess around with this line and create gear.

My question is though, when would one choose a nacrabiner over a softshackle and vice versa?

They seem to do the same thing. Or am I missing the point entirely? Wouldn't be the fist time - won't be the last if I were.

I prefer soft shackles, a little easier to make and IF IIRC, they take less amsteel.

It takes a bit more to open the soft shackles in my opinion. Therefore they might be less prone to "accidental" opening. Probably not though. If I want something to really hold I use a soft shackle. If I just want to hang something quick I use a nacrabiner.

Yeah my preference is the soft shackle. I use both but always come back to the soft shackle.

Wish I could comprehend the difference. I've been using dyna glide soft shackles for stuff on my tarp. I've hung from them once and they work fine, just more effort than a toggle or biner.

I put a "release" in my soft shackles to make them easier to open. [IMG][/IMG]

both are ok.... the nacrabiner is not hard to make once you make a few and learn the knot... i myself like the soft shackle alittle more but both do the same thing so it's more of a personal preference i feel
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

i think these are kinda the best of both worlds. change the dimensions and use 7/64.
