west Tennessee - Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park

I was wondering if there was any interest in camping out this weekend at NBFSP.
I am tentatively looking at hiking in on Sunday afternoon and hiking out on Monday.
They have 3 shelter/fire ring areas, but you can camp/hang anywhere you want.
They have a 3,5,10 & 20 mile trails. They all start at the same spot and return to basically the same spot. I have hiked the 5 & 10 mile trails a lot, I am really wanting to hike the 20 mile trail, but would be willing to compromise.
PM me if you are interested.
Here is a link to the park:

This isn't really a response to your post, I hope you find someone to hang with, it looks like a nice weekend. I just read your post and was amazed that there is actually a park named after Nathan Bedford Forrest.

Not sure how flexible my schedule is (work, baby and school), but I would be up for a hang in the near future. I got some big trips planned for July (GSMNP and Denali) and would love to try out my new toys before heading out for a major trip. I out of Memphis and have camped in NBFSP before. Great place and love the history. Are there any other peeps in the West Tenn area?

I'm glad to hear there are some others on here from West Tn. I'm just getting into this and really haven't got my Hammock yet.(it's on order) I love to camp and need to shed a few pounds, hence hiking might be what I need. (LOL) Is there any other places within a close drive? Hollar sometime in the future, if I'm free for the weekend I just might.

I may be a little late to your original post but I am heading to NBF state park this afternoon and plan to hike in about 3 miles today and complete the 20 mile loop tomorrow. With a forecasted overnight low of 30 degrees and a light breeze, I'll be able to test some changes to my gear selection. Previous record is a balmy 38 degrees and my feet got cold. That shouldn't happen this time thanks to a pair of overstuffed Goosefeet down booties.

Its probably good I did not see this until now. I was planning on doing the 20 mile hike today, but have been down with a sinus infection for the last 3 days.
I would have been tempted in going anyway.
In fact I did the 10 mile hike last Saturday. I am going to the Smokys later this week. I use the park for training and getting in shape.
Be sure to post a trail report.

Cool video! Looks like ya'll had a good time.
Nunnerys is mine & my kids favorite place to eat.
One of the few places I will eat onion rings.
Maybe we can try to meet up in the spring or fall.
