The Beaded Prusik is an idea I came up with while playing with some line and waiting for my first hammock, tarp and supplies to arrive.
Its basically an alternative to a using a Toggle.
I use it to adjust and take up the slack of my Guy Lines. I am also testing it for my tarp suspension.
First I made 12 continuous loops out of Lash-it.
10 of them with a small bead threaded onto the loop:
I added Loops with a locked brummel to the ends of all my lines.
The loops are for a Cow Hitch:
Some Call it a Larks Head
I made some 1/8th SC loops with double fishermans knots:
And Hitched them to my Lines as Tarp Tensioners:
This is the basic Idea: The tail of the line is kept as part of the tensioning system.
I have Hitched one loop over the Beaded Prusik.
Here are my finished lines for the Superfly:
On the left are my side pullout lines - 8 feet (used with some SC), then my four foot door guy lines, next my five foot tarp guy lines, and then to the extreme right my tarp suspension is two 10 feet lines with two normal prusik knots for the tarp attachments.
