6 Footers!!! That's why you pack an extra bit of Whisky. Watching those waves roll by from the safety of shore is so much more pleasant with a jigger of single malt!! Bring on the wind!!!!

Did some research, It looks like a hurricane is the only way to get 6 footers and we'd have to be on Cedar Lake, Smoke is 2 foot rolling swells at best Odds are very low but bring the Whisky just in case!

    That's reassuring.
no worries I have seen some interesting weather over the years. This year in particular in fact.

Just a few weeks ago Dan and I were on North Tea West taking on some impressive winds and waves. Just relax and let your hips roll with the waves, and if we do go over try to ignore the laughing and grab stuff before it floats away.

Moose are very active - the rut has started so keep an ear open for calls and thrashing early in the morning. Bring bug juice - mosquitos were still out!! Ditto! Thanks Dead-Eye.

Looks like you lucked out as far as weather goes. Based on the forecast, it's shaping up to be a typical "Algonquin Hang" with rain forecast for most of the three days. Not great.

Let's all keep a close eye on the weather. Getting soaked all weekend doesn't sound like too much fun, but we'll see. Wouldn't be the first time.

We should talk about what to do if the weather is really bad. Typically if I was backpacking I would go regardless of the weather but I am not sure about canoeing. The canoe trips I've done in the past had good weather. I assume inclement weather will make traveling more difficult if the winds really pick up and if there is a lot of rain. Are people wanting to go rain or shine? What are everybody's thoughts and experiences?

Im in no matter the weather and since your my paddling partner I hate to tell ya this you are too.

Seriously though we arent gonna do anything silly but a little, hell even alot of rain has never stopped me from enjoying myself. I have a fair bit of exp in all types of weather including some pretty wicked storms on some very big lakes.

Weather wont be a deterrent for me ether, it never is. I've been on several trips this year where there was at least one full day+ of adverse conditions and had a blast on all of them, I'm committed!
