I picked up some of the braided Mason's Twine at Home Depot yesterday in Yellow and right next to it was braided Mason's Twine in Pink as well. I almost grabbed the pink, but decided the yellow would actually stand out more when a light hit it on the way back from middle of night trip to answer nature's call.

My tool of choice for splicing is a guitar string bent in half to form a loop.

I found I had to "massage" the twine (wad it up) to get the strands to open up, before I could slide my guitar string thru it successfully. Then you just grab the other end of the twine in the guitar string loop and pull it thru.

The guitar string has a tendancy to slip between the strands (on the other side of the twine), so you have to be on the lookout for that.

Bifocals or a magnifying glass would be very helpful if you are gray haired like me!

    Happy Trails.

Likewise on the guitar string for making whoopies out of mason line.

And I made all kinds of things (whoopies, shackles, etc) and have never had them slip on me with yellow mason line.
