Perhaps you should give the forum more than two months before you deem it "getting miserable". It may be that it doesn't fit your idea of a perfect forum but I bet the longer you're on the forum, the more you'll feel it fits your needs.

And I have to respectfully disagree that the forum is over moderated; I think the moderators do a tremendous job here. This isn't most forums... and we're glad it's not!

More likely moved to the feedback forum.

All this is explained clearly in the Terms of Service article referenced on the home page. It's worth a read.

Over-moderated? I can't figure out how they do it. It's like 4 or 5 guys volunteering 24 hours a day. Honestly they couldn't do a better job and they have kept it very nice around here IMO.

    dla,
Stick around. Your catalog of minor disappointments shows a promising range of interests. You'll be glad you did. (As you can tell from the replies you've received so far, people are pretty happy with how things are run here, and they're also eager to help you share the benefits.)

I personally love how this forum is moderated. I help moderate a sizable Mustang club forum myself, and a few years back, we had a very similar thread to this one. We wanted to clean up the site, and make it more "family friendly" and on-topic. Others wanted it to be a soap box for whatever they felt like talking about at the time. It quickly degenerated into an all out internet war of words, and we ended up being called everything from "facists" and "nazis" to be accused of being "power hungry" and denying people their free speech. It left a sour taste in my mouth for quite awhile. Ultimately, about 1/4 of our club left, started their own club, and regretted it almost immediately once they were banned from ours.

Point being, forum moderators generally have their work cut out for them if their goal is to please 100% of the posters 100% of the time, and posters have their work cut out for them if their goal is to find the perfect forum anywhere on the internet.

FWIW, I donated not only to gain access to the other forums, but also because the people that run this place do a **** good job, and I know what it's like to herd cats

For what it's worth, if you feel that a thread is in the wrong forum just PM any of the mods. We'll be happy to take a look.

We don't always get it right, but we do our best. We don't always have time to compose a PM when moving threads.

As to making the rules more clear, I'm not sure how. You view and agree to the TOS when signing up for the site, they are posted on the main Home page, and are also stickied in the Announcements forum.

    Happy Hanging!

Of course. You can choose any length of time you like.
