I'm not well educated on the JMT but my GUESS would be a 3 season would be a better option. It's the dead of summer when you are going but I'm sure that area can see some cooler temps at night. Someone with actual experience on that trail would probably be better to listen to though lol
I see you are in Albany, I am typing this reply in Albany right now (where I work )
Best thing to do is look up the temp for the zip code you will be at (hiking in) about a week before your trip and bring along the corresponding insulation! I always plan for around 5-8* minus what the forecast say's as a safety margin!
