    That umbrella fabric is fabulous stuff for umbrellas. It is UV protected, waterproof to the extreme and weighs about three tons/square foot. If you want it for the back yard it would be fine. If you want it to car camp it would ok. If you want it to backpack you had best rent a pack mule.

    Kabayan! Where did you find the store that sells ripstop here in Manila..By the way I'm new here in hammockforum and still searching around for tips...I also sent you pm. thanks! I'm glad I saw this forum...
