    SHT 6 Days - 120 Miles

I'm going from July 4-10. Planning on an easy 20 mile a day pace. I'm doing south to north, from the Sucker River trail head and finishing at the Caribou Falls State Wayside. Will be doing this unsupported.

Here's my gear list so far. I will be carrying a little more food. Thinking my pack will be around 25 pounds on day 1.

    Good luck!! Have fun...stay safe!

FYI, during an SHT trip last weekend the bridge over Split Rock Creek (not river!) was gone...washed away in the rain from last week. It's an easy ford, less than knee deep.

Since that portion of the trail is inside the State Park, I doubt that it will have been replaced by this weekend.

I wish I could say 20 miles a day was easy!

You might want to add an extra set of socks. When beep and I were there last weekend there was a lot of very wet, muddy trail. I doubt it will all be dried up by this weekend.

    Have a great hike!

    Cool.....
You could ditch the snow stake trowel...the SHT has campsite latrines. I often just stop by a site to deposit.
Plenty of water up on the trail now so you may not need to carry as much but stop and camel-up at streams and lakes and creeks.
    Have a terrific time.

BackpackingZombie and myself were up there last week and the Split Rock Road/Bridge heading north was tore up for construction potholes and traffic seemed to be an issue. Water was flowing wonderfully when we left then again it dumped a couple inches on us, which cut our trip short....Have fun
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Just walked in the door from my 4 day voyage on the SHT. Pretty much the entire planked boardwalk after section 13 is out. You have to literally walk a beaver dam that is covered in flowing water to get by. We had a blast getting by but make sure you bring some extra socks because it will not be fixed by the time you get up there. Good luck and have fun.

Ha! I'm the guy with that footage on his camera
Previewed it a little while ago. Looks good. Still disappointed nobody went under

Was perhaps 20 yards of delicate balancing on top of the dam required. The approach to that part, and new boardwalk.

We had to wade through at least 16 inches of water. If you go down, well, it looked pretty deep on both the approach to the dam and below it.
