    Another Permethrin Thread

...because it's been nearly a week.

I was in Tulsa today, looking to score some permethrin for my hammocks, and it dawned on me: for such an effective product, finding it sure can be hit or miss. Why is that, do you s'pose?

Ba$$Pro had it, btw. Academy and WM did not. Go figure.

I think the idea of treating clothes is still alien to most people so the stores just don't carry alot of it.

Seems like it's much more likely to be found in a Tractor Supply, Southern States or "insert name of your more local" Ag Supply.

I know it's in several horse supply catalogs I've seen...

Try the pet section of any store like wallmart. There is probably a flea and tick spray with the right concentration.

It makes me nervous. I feel hot and sickish if I use too much OFF!

I think people tend to be skittish of stuff they don't understand, and putting "bug b dead" on one's clothes can be a bit counter intuitive.

I made up a batch last night and nuked all my gear for a trip later this week. The wife said "don't you put that on you when you get there?"

Oh, I know where to find the stuff for yards, barns, etc...I meant the Sawyer product that is packaged and sold specifically for human use on clothing. WM carried Repel brand aerosol up until a couple of years ago, and then they quit.

Sometimes, it takes more than a better mousetrap, I guess. <shrug>

I found the Sawyers one time last year at Dicks, but no more. Probably best to order it.

I would think Cabela's might have it, but I recall Sawyer having a dealer web page.
