I found 5 yd of black tulle for $5, so I'm about to venture into this DIY.
RamblinRev finds tulle too fragile and stiff. The second I certainly know, and the first is certainly believable, light as it is.
So what to do about fragility? Clark criss-crosses 1/4" strips of grosgrain in design or configuration that varies with the hammock. So, for 5c / yd, I bought lots of black polyester ribbon to do the same.
Opinions here on whether that is as much for sales appeal as for making the netting more resistant to damage, and so a waste of my scant skills?
Here is a place on the net,,that sells about every kind of mosquito netting by the yard, as well as bulk,,from 125 holes per sq. inch all the way up to 625 holes per sq. inch,,and various prices,,think I will buy a few yards and mess with a DIY project myself.
