    Lake Superior Circle Tour

I leave next Sunday for a 5-6 day trip around Lake Superior - from St Paul MN heading up the North Shore etc. I plan to hammock camp my way around the lake.
Any of you Motorcycle Hangers out there have any insights, tips, suggestions on camping (hanging) areas (through MN, ONT, UP or WI), border crossing, money exchange. I have done a couple of shorter camping (hammock) trips this past year. I’ve also been on the Circle Tour website but it’s always nice to hear any recent 1st hand experiences. Thanks for your input.

I've been around a few times heading east or west but never made a point of just doing it as a trip in itself.

I do know there are some great places on the south shore around Marquett and there's a State Park .. forget the name. Also make sure to stop at Superior Provincial Park in Ontario. The North Shore is really rugged, love the beauty.

Take lots of pics and keep us posted.

Shadows are sweet bikes! I considered one before I bought my Virago. I see you're using a tour bag. Are you using anything else, a tank bag or saddle bags?

I've got Tourmaster Saddle Bags and I also strap on an Aarn Featherlite to the luggage rack for all my hanging needs. Thanks for the Shadow comment.

Same here, except for the Aarne, I have the tour bag to match. That's the perfect setup for packing a bike. Have a good trip....Keep the shiny side up!

Keeping the shiny side is GOOD! Thought you might find the attached pic interesting. I was practicing last weekend in case I had to go to the ground. WBSF - the side pull outs make it look like a tent.

Interesting...but why didn't you turn the bike around and attach it to the left side so the kickstand would give extra support ? Or was that just the tarp and not a hammock under there?

It was a set up mainly for the tarp and protection. The WBBB was on the ground. This was just for in a pinch and you had nothing to hang from. Personally I hope not to use it!
