Greetings,
I'm new to hammock camping (if you want to follow my adventures http://www.youtube.com/faquad2010 )
I've been thinking a bit about tarps and setting them the way I want to.
It occurred to me that tent poles are both light weight and compact (the pull apart ones that have shock cord in core).
I will be playing around with some ideas I have and experiment.
One could use them in place of tracking poles, but my goal is to have them off the ground. I have 2 ideas thus far.
1 is to insert them from corner to corner on short ends and then draw them together with some cording, resulting in an arched tarp.
the 2nd is to set poles at desired height/width then pull the edges together with cord (right close to poles). The cord being pulled tight would secure the poles to the tarp, without being able to pull tarp shut.
I'm going as budget as possible, so this might not make much sense. I'll deff. do a video and take pics, etc. when I find something that works along these lines.
Sorry to post 1/2 ideas, just thought maybe others could feed off them, and maybe offer thoughts they may have along this idea.
