    My first Claytor clone

I just finished this hammock. I basically copied the Claytor. I made the storage bag bigger but outside of that it is the same. Cheers !!!First Claytor Clone 017.jpg

Wow. That looks just like a Claytor. Great job.

    Great looking hammock!

I have been thinking about making something similar without the double bottom after I finish my 3/4 UQ. How did you do the ends? Did you make a channel like on the original, or is it whipped?

    nice work Darby!

I guess since you have a commercial version already, you're doing your homework for a little hands-on hammock evangelization, hmm?

I sewed the channel. I was worried about hitting the ground, but so far so good. I sewed a 3" channel with three rows of stitching. The hammock stretched of course but the channels are holding fine. I used 1 1/2" seatbelt strapping (first set of huggers) to beef-up the channel openings.
