    source for string

I would like to find some of that "string" that is used on all of the USB Drives I have. I have also seen it used for draw cords with really small cord locks on some camping gear.

It is always black, very, very stiff, almost impossible to break and very, very small diameter. Feels almost like wire, but I'm pretty sure it is some kind of synthetic.

Also, would like to find some of those tiny cord locks used with the "string", whatever the real name for the stuff is.

Anybody know what it is and were I could obtain some? Without mortgaging the house to get it.

Not sure about the string but the tiny cord locks can be found at Outdoor Wilderness Fabrics.

Looked at what they have - they don't give any dimensions and from what I could see, it looks like they are all bigger than the really small cord locks used for the string I'm looking for.

I know the really small, micro cord locks exist - I've seen them.

Amanda and I use the black mini cordlocks from OWF. I think the order thing calls them GECM, they are cheap too. Here are some pics with mason line, they are the smallest that we have ever found, even smaller than thru hiker.

    Hope this helps,

Thanks - that helps, but I think those are still bigger than the ones I'm really looking for.

I've uploaded a picture of the string I'm looking for with some of the BPL guy line cord for comparison:

The "micro" cord locks I've seen aren't much bigger than the black string in the image.

Maybe I'll have to get a few of the OWF cord locks for comparison.

Here are a few pics of the micros I use from OWF. The string is braided decoy line.

Thanks - that looks to be about the size I want.
