OK folks, from a suggestion made HERE we have a challenge for you all.
(EDIT: Due to some confusion later on in this post, I am stating here that nobody is being asked to do stupid Jackass stunts. The concept of "extreme" in North Amerca is aparently different from the concept here in England. Please don't do Jackass stuff.. Now carry on reading)
The challenge is to do an extreme hammock hang. Now this can be from an extreme position (at your own risk of course) or an unusual location. (Please do not break the law)
Photographic evidence is required in the form of a picture of you in your hammock with both feet off the floor. It should also allow us to see what is around you or to be able to easily identify the location.
The challenge will last until the last day in September at which point a poll will be set up for people to vote for their favourite.
As a really decent prize, Evan at Black Rock Gear has offered to send the winner an original Black Rock Hat (Any Color: black, blue, grey). Thanks so much for the prize Evan.
He will ship to anywhere, so this challenge is worldwide.
Now, some hints n' tips. Choose your location well and do a recce first. Do a risk assessment. If there is any chance of you getting arrested, really, really think hard about whether it's worth it. If there's just the possibility of you getting thrown off the premises then get in quick, set up quietly, get the photo and get out again.
In the event that you do break the law by trespassing or whatever, you may not use this post or Hammock Forums as mitigation for your actions. Neither myself or Hammock Forums accept responsibility if you get arrested, are sent to jail, bend down to pick up the soap in the shower and get a nasty surprise, kill yourself falling off a bridge or any other negative possibility occuring as a direct or indirect result of this challenge. There, that's the legal bull over.
Have a go then boys and girls, ladies and gents, old farts like me. Enjoy! enjoy! enjoy! and post your extreme hanging photos in this thread.
Eric
