UPDATE: I did a rafting trip on the Wolfe River this past weekend. The WunderQuilt worked great. Temps fell to 55* on Friday night and I was just fine.

wwk10, that's a great drawing! The thing I really like about yours is the size. Mine is plenty long. But at 35", my shoulders are just covered enough. I would definitely prefer another 10" as you have specified.

I'm sold on the XL ladies puffy coat idea. I'm going to continue to scrounge Salvation Army and garage sales.

That's a great idea duktape! It's hard to save weight by replacing one piece of gear with a lighter (more expensive) piece. BUT, when you can replace two pieces of gear with one - yikes, a quantum leap in lightening up (and saves money)!

I make all my top quilts wearable. The concept really works.
