    My first hammock...questions about width..

Today after work I quickly finished my hammock, gathered one end, pulling the edges out about 3 inches, and tied the other end. My question is this, my sides are really high so I take it I made it too wide, its very comfortable to lay in on the diagonal, very flat, lots of feet and head room, weighs in with the complete suspension at 16 1/2 ounces, made from 1.9. Can I remove some of the width to reduce the amount of depth?. I like this idea about being able to tinker with this without completely destroying it. Actually the wife just tole me she wants one also for the back yard for her too.

Just tighten up the suspension and that will take some of the slack out. Do you have a ridgeline? You might want to play around with an adjustable ridgeline so you can dial it in. A 98" to 102" ridgeline works for the majority.

    Hammock sides

Well I will have to wait till this weekend but I will adjust the sides a bit, add the ridgeline and again read knotty's guide and watch shugs videos. Thanks to all for the help.

Shugs right on the money! I just changed my whipping from warbonnet style to gathered end with whipping, and the lay is much better. Its all in the whipping.

    Thanks Shug!
