Denver - October - Hang and Fly Fish

I'm going to be traveling to Denver (first time in CO) in October, and I'm hoping to do some camping and fly fishing. I'm arriving in the evening, Monday the 24th, and will be totally free until Thursday the 27th around noon. Anyone interested in hanging and/or fly fishing (Tenkara)? I realize it's mid-week, but it'd be great to meet up with a few other HF members.

Even if you're not available (or don't like to camp with strangers from NJ), I'm also interested in any information about good places to go from anyone familiar with the area. Thanks.

Well obviously I am not from the Denver area but as far as Tenkara goes (and hiking is supposed to be pretty good to ) Rocky Mountain National Park is reputed to be Meca. There are several Tenkara guys in the ara including Jason Klass. There is a Denver area Tenkara Facebook group that you might post on.

Have fun. Hope to see pictures.

I'll go out on a limb and say that I am interested (tentatively) in meeting you up there for a hang.

Don't have any fly fishing equipment and don't know that I would have it, but I'd be interested in at least observing a little.

Doesn't help the rest of your needs, but it may help to have a little company.

Okay, I'm finally getting back into trip planning mode. Looks like I'm planning a couple nights in RMNP, Wild Basin area maybe, and doing some fly fishing (thanks for the tips Paul). I'll likely hike in Tuesday morning, 10/25 and back out Thursday morning, 10/27. Anyone is welcome to join me (even if you don't fish, Avenger ). And, I'm always open to tips and suggestions on spots to hit and places to stay.
