    Making adjustable ridgeline....

Well I screwed up a adr that I bought and not sure how to repair it so I'm wanting your help. What is the suggested line to use, I do have som amstel 7 64, some 1.75 zingit and some slightly smaller line that is gray and similar to zingit....I understand that a adr is similar to a whoopie sling, I've made several of them,,, is there any difference and what is your recommendation as to finished length, material and anything else you can suggest. I'm wanting to use this adr to also hold a small bag to hold my glasses and small flashlight, and to also support my bugnet. thanks for any info on this.

There are many threads on the length to make your ARL. I think the one that I put on my ENO DN was ~85% of the hammocks length. I made the adjustable portion (whoopie) pretty short as I only wanted to adjust about 6-8".

Make your closed/locked eye as normal, then skip ahead a few feet (instead of the normal "start the adjustable bury near the closed end").
100" ridgeline is fairly common, so skipping ahead to somewhere near that (allow for any extra adjustments you may want) then do the adj. bury. Use approx. 110" of line, that'll be plenty for a standard 10' hammock. More if your hammocks longer. But 110" will give you enough for the buries, etc.

You can resplice it if it is not right.

I thought there was a way to adjust the bury, thanks.

Yep thats what I read to do. I know you can search and find the threads, but have you looked at how many hits you will get. Busy schedule at work, home chores, helping my wife with her health issues and not much free time for me makes me pose the questions to forum members. Thanks for the help Gargoyle and others.

btw, zing-it or lash-it are fine for ridge line. And 100" with 5-6 inches of play on either side will get you there no problem.
