Anyone Want to Hang Out This Weekend (19-21 August) - NJ/NYC/Philly Area?

Both wife and work gave me a free pass from noon Friday the 19th through Sunday evening on the 21st, so I plan to get out into the piney woods. Overnight lows in the 60s and a small chance of rain for Friday night, I'll take it!

Anyone interested in joining me? Friday night? Saturday? Both?

I'm not yet sure where I want to go, but I have some ideas.
    • Sawmill Lake in High Point State Park
    • AT in Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area
    • Round Valley
    • Lebanon, err, I mean Brendan T. Byrne State Forrest
    • Batona Trail in the Pine Barrens
    • Catskills
    • Poconos
    • Other

I'd like to do some hiking and/or fishing, but I'm also happy to lounge around camp and play with sticks, stoves, cord, knives, etc. I'm happy to paddle too; I just don't have a boat.

I'm open to other suggestions in the greater NYC or Philadelphia areas. I'm in Central Jersey so something within a reasonable drive. Please post to this thread if interested or have any location ideas. I know it's short notice, but I figured I'd see who's game.

So far we're tipping toward South Jersey/Pinelands. Pine barrens float trip, maybe? I don't really know any of the waters down there.

AAHH man, Dylan you are going to get me into big trouble if I ask the wife about this one. Let me check with her and possibly well or I will come Saturday night through Sunday.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

Cool link. I think that if I don't paddle this trip, I'll be planning a river trip in the pines soon!
