    Greetings from Durham NC

Wow. I mean wow. I am so overwhelmed with how much information there is here. And here I thought I was set up with my little backpacker hammock and 4mm cordage... Whoopie slings? Spike hitches? Continuous Ridgelines? Oh my gosh... Can this old dog be taught new tricks?!
Anyway, I have always carried a hammock in the climbing pack and set it up for breaks between climbs for me and the kids. Father's day has always been my "hangin' day" and now I'm looking to hang on backpacking trips with friends. My back can't take the ground like it used to.
So if anyone has any advice on where to start, I am ALL ears! I am a bit of a DIYer so I am not afraid to try anything. And cheap is good too, so if you have budget tips, then please indulge me...
Ok off to peruse and ogle, and drool, and wish at all your tricks!

Welcome aboard from Florida. Yeah, olddogs can learn new tricks, I'm an imperfect example.
