I have an ENO DN and a set of Crap Strap Pros.
You don't have to toss out the straps and buy new ones. And you don't have to rebuild part of your hammock.
I just wrap the crap strap around the tree until it is all "used up." Several wraps will be necessary for a small tree. I then put a good quality carabiner in the closest loop and run a whoopie sling between that 'biner and the one that's already on the hammock. That way you can easily adjust the whoopie because it's sliding over the metal of the 'biners, not "sawing" through the strap. (Note: this method is not for gramweenies - because 'biners are oh so heavy )
An additional benefit of this approach is that you now have a bunch of unused loops on each of your trees. Put cheapo 'biners in those and use them to hang your gear.
BTW: Welcome to HF!!
