Q re Sports Authority 80% down bag

This is a real shot in the dark, but I am looking for info on a rectangular 80% down bag at Sports Authority. I stumbled on one in the store, but there was no tag and the clerk disappeared to look up info for me, but never returned. I cant find it online and suspect it may be discontinued.

I am looking for a rectangular, cheap, down bag to cut into two UQs.

I am wondering about the weight, temperature rating and cost of this bag from Sports Authority. It was a standard size bag about 34" by 80", blue nylon like shell inside and out, 80% down (I assume duck, not goose), cinch cord at head end. It seemed pretty light weight.

Anyway, I do not expect an answer, but thought I would take a shot.

    Thanks

    How much was it?

Was there any label or brand name on it?

If the price is right, I don't see why it would hurt to get it. That is especially if you are going to modify it to your needs.

It was Sports Authority in house brand, Alpine Design.

No other information. The clerk could not tell me the price or the weight or anything else. I cannot find it online. Its frustrating when you want to spend money and there is only apathy.

No price tag means it's free, right?? Find the store manager and offer them like $30. If it's the last one and there's no packaging I can't imagine they won't let it go for cheap.

I bought a similar BSA branded down bag off e-bay a few months ago. I guess the scouts got rid of any down bags in their inventory so they discounted these cheap. I paid around $30 for a 30F 80% down mummy bag so this rectangular bag should probably be similar.

I have thought of doing the same. I have several rectangle sleeping bags taking up space in my closet. My question is how would you cut it for an UQ (say a 2/3 ) ?
Life looks better from a BIAS hammock.

CreativeKayt has a good thread on this forum on how to convert a sleeping bag to a UQ. Here is her Youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWP7dmvTszk

I would like a 45" x 55" UQ. I would like it to also be used as a vest

    UQ / Vest UQJacketSnipit.PNG

I would also like 48" TQ that tapers to 36" and is 72 - 80" in lenth.

I also make two of everything. One for me and one for my son.

Although I want a 45" wide UQ, I am considering a 40" wide UQ. Warbonnet sells 40" wide UQs. The reason I am considering 40" is I can get 2 out of one bag. Open 34" bag end up with square 68" by 80". I can cut two 40x55 UQs
