    Looking for a cone

I can usually find what I need when making stuff but I can't find a cone out there in the real world. I need a plastic cone 1" at the base, and about 1.5" tall. Any ideas?

If it were around July 4th, I could find plenty in my front yard on burnt out rockets. I thought about the tip that covers a tube of caulk when it's partially used but I need the base to be wider. My MacGyver isn't working apparently.

Check for serger thread spools. They may be too high or not conical enough but it might be worth a try.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Just off the top of my head.

Cool Whip in the can. Has a plastic top but the top of it is flat. I think a cheese whiz does as well.

How about a tip for cake frosting? About $1 for a whole set in the baking aisle. Or if you have a specialty bakery supply shop nearby, you would probably have an even better selection.

get a piece of balsa wood (any craft place) drill a hole in center, put in dowel, put in drill and spin-n-sand to shape. we made nose cones for rockets and chest pieces this way.

Not sure but possibly the rocketry section of your local hobby shop would have parts.

Can you cut a circle out of a flat piece of plastic, cut a line along the radius from the center to the edge and then fold into cone shape and staple in place? The side wall of a gallon of milk is a source for the flat plastic.

Wow! None of you lost your inner MacGyver! Great, I'll hit the grocery for cake decorating tips when I get off work. I agree that the Cool Whip tops are flat instead of points but can't remember Cheese Whiz. We do have a local hobby shop that I forgot about so I will go by there too.

If I get it worked out, I'll post it in another thread. It's just a update from someone previous project.
