    how big are the straps you know to fit around a Big Turtle belly lol cause im just using a miltary style pack not alice a newer version works great but is a little heavy almost 10lbs i say

    You could also just return it to REI for a full credit. It is their return policy, and they promote it in their ads. Buy something you like.

    The hipbelt will fit to about 44".

    I have this same pack, though it is in green and black. It's a good pack and is adjustable on the torso length, which is nice. The lid can be removed and you save about 9-12 oz if I recall. I camped for a month in Vermont out of this bag- it had at least 75# in it and held up like a champ. That was 10 years ago, and I still use it- though with a lot less weight in it.
