Re dehojas. Pluq mod. Would a sleeping pad work? I don't want to sleep on a pad, but they are so lite I've been thinking about taking them.

If I hung a UQ, then inserted a pad then the hammock, then me:
1 would I get added warmth or would the pad defeat the purpose of the uq by compressing it and by creating gaps
    2 would it be uncomfortable

Sleeping pads are too thick to conform to the shape of the hammock without body-weight on top of it...

People in extreme cold often lay on pads and use UQs...

I just dont see how it is though, the bag feels so thin and light.
I don't see how in any known universe that a 1" thick bag is good to 10-degrees, unless it's the new Chernobyl-Duck down that generates it's own heat for the next 10,000 years...

That said, at 1" thick, if hung right, should have no issues at 40-degrees, if it's baffled. My KAQ is about 1" of climashield, and 40-degrees is no problem. Add a layer of IX or thin PE Foam and you could go farther. (assuming you don't have condensation issues)

    Just my $0.02.

Unless that 10 degrees is on the Celsius scale (50F). Doing the volume calculation divided by fill weight yields 289 FP for the down. Which would make sense given the overall size of the bag and the resulting loft it achieves.

    Cheers

    I decided to buy it.

The mummy version is marked down from $99 to $59.
I paid $21 for this rectangular version.
No info for the mummy or the rectangular version, but the store manager and the online customer service swear it is rated to 10 degrees. (I am hoping for 40 degrees)

    Its 85" by 64".
80% down (no telling what type of down or the fill power. I am guessing 450FP)
    It has 1.25" loft
It compresses to 7" by 17" (I could get it down to half that size)
it has a channel and drawstring for cinching the head.
IT has a two way zipper so you could pea pod it, but I dont think it has enuf insulation to peapod it.

My plan was to cut it into two 42" x 55" UQs.
I think I will double it and use it as a 42" x 64" UQ.

I need some cold weather so I can test it.
I would love to get it down to 30-40 degrees single layer.
If I can do that, I will cut it up.
