I am not into the DIY stuff YET... and am looking at getting a bug net.
Any suggestions, things to watch out for? Something reasonably priced is good.

This is your one stop shop for all Hammock knowledge
Poppa Smurf (a forum member) makes a bug sock for hammocks similar to yours.
I'm not sure about prices (there don't seem to be any listed on his site), but others have purchased from him and given wonderful reviews.
Here's Water Monkey's review of the bug sock and hammock sock by Papa Smurf.
Hope it helps.
Prices are at the bottom of the page. Very good bug socks so long as you have a ridgeline

If you don't try due to fear of failure you've already failed due to fear.
Another vote for Papa Smurf I have one of his bug nets and its of great quality and craftsmanship. I got his tulle material and am very pleased with it.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.
Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
Tulle BugSock = $50.00 + $5.20 shipping.
Noseeum BugSock = $65.00 + $5.20 shipping.
Nanoseeum BugSock = $100.00 + $5.20 shipping.
For ease.
I just ordered the bug net from dphammockgear. I should have it next week sometime; I will let you know what I think of it. It is only about waist length, but weighs 3/4 ounce (weight taken from site).
I didn't like the ENO bug net because the zipper is vertical and I couldn't have it open and be free of it when I wanted to. So I bought a Warbonnet bug net because the zipper is horizontal and I love it! I can unzip it all the way and have it out of the way.
