He may be a little smarter than we are giving him credit for.
After a 'few too many cold ones', this is where he would probably end up anyway. So he's just taking the uncomfortable travel part out of it! :-)
More beer, less gear.
Im totally into it.
That's incredible! I have a good friend who routinely sleeps w/out even a pad under him and swears he is comfortable.
My youngest son (we call him "Idiot son") can do that. But as he has nearly no body mass, he's not actually pushing on the ground all that hard: 5' 10" & about 98 Lbs, yea, when he takes off his shirt he disappears, cause that tee is what gives him mass.
Has my lack of sensitivity to cold, so,,,,,,,, lets say a Hello Kity quilt would do for him too.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.
Wow. I had to sleep on the ground for two night's this summer during Boy Scout camp (the other 4 I hammocked) and the experience reminded me how much I HATE sleeping on the ground. Even with a pad, I can never get comfortable. The ground is just so flat and hard and it just doesn't work for me. At this point, a bed is still more comfortable, but my hammock has been a god-send for camping as I enjoy all other points besides the ground.
