    Noob from Jersey

    Hi all. Just getting back into backpacking/camping after an almost 30 year hiatus. Most of the gear I had is long gone, past on to friends or relatives, which is just as well, as things have changed since the 80's.

    I started reading through a lot of old threads here, and I will apologize in advance for any threads I may rez.

    Welcome to HF from central FL!
    I used to live off Exit 4 in a previous life.
    .
    So many trees, so little time...
    We follow where the Swamp Fox guides,
    His friends and merry men are we;
    And when the troop of Tarleton rides,
    We burrow in the cypress tree.
    The turfy hammock is our bed,
    Our home is in the red deer's den,
    Our roof, the tree-top overhead,
    For we are wild and hunted men.

    Welcome aboard from Florida. Plenty of info here, just don't let it overwhelm you. Shug's videos are a good place to start.

    Welcome aboard from the northern half of the state. Don't regret the old gear you gave away. Think of it as a chance to start from a clean slate.

    By the way, has anyone ever told you you look like Hurley?
