    It's Nice Out! Woooooooooo!

Holy crud, folks! It's actually nice here in Gainesville! First time that the high for the day has been below the high eighties/100% humidity since...well...May? Maybe?

Don't get me wrong; it's still hot out. But...it's about eighty, with only moderate humidity! It's "I-wanna-go-to-the-beach," or "Let's-go-skating-'cause-I'm-gonna-sweat-anyway," hot, not "Why-is-there-a-guy-with-cloven-hooves-in-front-of-me-with-elevator-music-playing-in-the-background?" hot.

I think I'll string up the Hennessy tonight in the side yard and try out the poncho liner as a no-mod underquilt tonight! It's supposed to actually get down to 66!

    "Trip" report come morningtime!

Couldn't believe it when I walked outside this morning and it didn't feel like scorching earth. I believe I'll definitely be camping out this weekend.

Where to? I might be able to make it out Sunday night, if you're interested in company.

Ya'll are lucky the front hasn't past here yet. All we're getting is the rain, which we can always use. I'm ready for some though.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

    It's currently 81 in Jacksonville.

Calling for a low of 65 tonight. I foresee sleeping with the windows open tonight!

And as an aside, only 8 more days until I take my first trip to the Linville Gorge.

Me and some friends are paddling the Santa Fe this weekend. The more the better. We'll be camping at Gumbo's favorite Hwy47 site on Friday night and near the Ichtucknee on Saturday.

Unfortunately I don't have the culinary prowess of Gumbo so this is more of a paddling/hanging trip and less of a chow-fest.

Shoot me a PM if you want to meet up. I'm headed out early, early Friday morning (a good 3+ hour drive for me).

Yeah, I hear you. We got some of the bands from the tropical storm on Monday, and it rained all day yesterday. Finally cleared up around four in the afternoon, just before I had to head to work. I got out of work, and went, "Hey, it's nice out! What the heck?"

Hopefully, you'll be getting some cool weather soon!

PM sent, but my work schedule will probably interfere.

I might be interested; shoot me a PM with the details, and we'll see where that takes us!
