    NE Florida Hang

    Hey Guys!!
Was planning to do a hang up in the Jacksonville area in the next few weeks. A few people from HF have expressed interest so we figured we'd open it up to everyone. I was planning to head down to the Black Creek Ravines Conservation Area either the weekend of 9/30 (might have tickets to the FL game on 10/1) or 10/7. The camp site is a 2.2 miles hike from the parking lot and is on the creek so its accessible by boat. There is actually pretty descent elevation change here (for Florida)so it makes it pretty cool. Their website is great with alot of info. If there's a group that wants to go a different weekend or to a different park let me know and we'll plan it. Will just be excited to get out and start hanging again.

    I'm in

Looks like a great spot. I spent two nights in Osceola Nat'l Forest part of the Florida Trail last weekend. I was HOT and a long hike, so I could go for a cooler and shorter trip. Either weekend works for me.

Me and JohnnyWalker hung there a couple of nights last winter. I reckon I'll join ya if it isn't too hot. Please keep me posted on the date.

Yeah the 7th works for me. I suppose I can drag the gear out for a hang that weekend. As for Black Creek Ravines its a nice little area thats not crowded. Actually I hardly ever see anybody else there when Ive been. As for boat access to the campsite that might be a bit of a stretch.

I'll be up for it, but I can't make it down until Sunday morning.

Anyone up for a Sunday-Monday extender?

Most of the park is on a bluff over looking the creek. At the site there is a trail that leads down the bluff to the water . You can tie up a yak or canoe down there. You would have to paddle in though. There is a small beach area but its about a mile from the site.

Alright guys. Its official. We'll hang at the Black Creek Ravines Conservation Area from 10/7-10/9. If anyone wants to stay through Monday, let's let FLRider know so he can plan for it. I might be able to swing it but ill have to see once we get closer. The website for the park is at the top of the thread and they have a good trail map. I advise everyone to print out.
