Planning a diy uq and want to know Which is better, thinsulate or primaloft. I don't know much about either so any feedback will be welcome... Thanks.

I think my first choice would be Climashield, then Primaloft, lastly Thinsulate.
My knife is so sharp it cut the sixth finger off my right hand! On the plus side, Inigo Montoya no longer hunts me.
I prefer Primaloft over Climashield and both over Thinsulate. Thinsulate is more for things like gloves and such where compression is an issue.
Pl is so nice, it really is like down, and it's really easy to work with. I actually think it is easier to work with than Cs, but that's just me.

It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
Formerly known as Acercanto, my trail name is MacGuyver to some, and Pucker Factor to others.

my vote would be Climashield.... primaloft is ok to use but it needs to be quilted ... Climashield you can get away without quilting it if you want but i still put a few in just because....
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
You could always try Insultex as well. But yeah, thinsulate is last on the list. I like PL but have very limited experience with CS.
I like both Climashield and Primaloft.
Thinsulate is good for clothing that you don't want to look bulky.

Thanks guys, when I purchase in the next month or so, it will be climashield 5.0. Thanks for the input.
How warm is that climashield 5.0? I want to make a liner for my bag for colder weather or maybe just ditch the bag and switch to the uq/tq option. Down is just so expensive.
Well according to a well known formula for insulation, 100-(40 x thickness)=estimated temp rating, one layer will get you to about 50 degrees. It is 1.2 inches thick. Also though, if you were to double up, according to it, it would get you to around zero. I don't know how accurate the formula is, but I will be using it when I make my underquilt. I too cannot afford the down be it price time and effort. Hopefully someone with a little more experience can better answer your question.
5.0 climashield will get most users down to 32F ..5.0 is good for 3 season
2.5 os good for 45F for most users
