There may be a group hang nearby where you can pick up a lot of tips and techniques to speed things up or find that perfect system. Hangers will often let you try out their rig to get a taste of whats out there.

    Hmmm.
Are you still using the stock Hennessy suspension, with the figure-8 knot? If so, that's going to be part of your issue, for certain. It takes just this side of forever to adjust that properly. If you have enough experience to hang your hammock perfectly, every single time, it works really well. Otherwise...well, you know...

Since you're committed to ultralight backpacking, I'd recommend a Whoopie Sling set-up. It's a lot easier to adjust and shouldn't gain any weight over the standard Hennessy set-up. Just a thought.

I'll certainly switch to Whoopie slings. Pretty cheap, far easier, looks like, and probably a lot lighter than the Spectra stock cords.
