Isn't that the whole point of writing trip reports?

Excellent pics. I'm seriously considering buying an LX-5 because I find that I leave my heavy DSLR at home more often than I lug it along with me. The quality gap is narrowing now, as proven by your shots.

And so I started looking at the pictures before reading and thought, "I wonder what island that is, I want to go there!". Then I saw where it was at. What a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing other parts of the world that many of us will never see.

My photography actually declined after I bought a DSLR in 2006. And picked up again after buying a fairly simple compact in 2008 (the photos in my prevoius trip report was taken with that camera, a Panasonic FX-35). The best camera is the one you brought along.

Thanks for the kind words about the photos, everyone. Maybe I suck at hammock camping, but at least I can feel some comfort that my photos are appreciated (too bad the photos don't keep you warm at night)

Do you have a link to the other thread to discuss your hanging issues? I'd hate for you to not go out as often due to the cold. I'm trapped in an office, so I need you to post as many pics as possible!

I got some advice regarding my UQ, I just haven't had the time to try them out. I'll try some more this weekend, much easier in daylight. No time for overnighters this weekend anyway.

My current top insulation (synthetic sleeping bag) simply has too little loft to be warm enough when the the temp drops towards freezing. Not much to do about that (unless carrying something more, but that's bulk and weight I don't want). I'm looking at some alternatives, maybe this nice sleeping bag/quilt from ZPacks.

    I'll do my best!

Thanks for the trip report. You have a good eye for taking pictures.

I love your one tree set up. I was only able to do that once.

It’s hard to take my eyes off the photos long enough to read what you have to say about them. I’m green with envy too! We get a lot of Swedish backpackers visiting here. I don’t know why, when they have so much on offer at home. Very nice, still green.
