    1. Meet new knowledgeable people that you have something in common with.

Great thread, I am always amazed how at the end of a hang, the corners of my mouth are kind of sore. Comes from all the smiling and laughing. Hard to put a price on that.
Revolution is about the need to re-evolve political, economic and social justice and power back into the hands of the people, preferably through legislation and policies that make human sense. That's what revolution is about. Revolution is not about shootouts.

This video has taught me to always bring my tow hitch to a group hang and to make sure that if I get stuck on the side of the road no cameras/video cameras are allowed. Because we all know...

It's been a while since this thread has seen any comments and since I've gotten so much out of group hangs, (I still love the solitude of solo or a small handful of folks too), I thought I'd give it a bump and see what gets added.

Missed this thread the first time by.

What have I gotten out of group hangs?
    1. Meeting some of the greatest people
    2. Like the Forum, politics and religion are left at the trailhead
    3. A common interest in HHFF, hammocks, hiking, food and fun
    4. MADD777 making me spend money, i.e. Kimberlit Mini and Sawyer,... so far
    5. Grinder, an inspiration to all
    6. Sharing time with the kids that have parents who are willing to take the time to
expose them to the great outdoors.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

On my first group hang? An epic adventure for 3 after everyone else fled the elements!

Later hangs? I love socializing with people that share my hobbies, so it's a lot of fun to meet the people from the forums, and even the guy who made some of my gear! I get to learn new things, teach some of what I know to a few people who don't know it yet, and just chatter with people who've shared similar experences. I get to see some gear in action that I've only read or watched videos about, so I can decide if it goes on the "this is worth some of my money" list.

This year? Maybe I'll actually get up early enough that I don't miss breakfast again :banghead:
