According to the Rei website they are both nylon, one ripstop, the other parachute nylon.

Funny how the ultra light one is bigger.

And at Overstock it's even cheaper....

Amazon is selling the Grand Trunk Ultralight hammock in forest green color for $12.38 with free two day shipping. Wow. That is a deal!

There must be a difference between the "Ultralight Travel" and the "Ultralight".

I think the difference is the one from REI comes with carabiners and the one from Amazon does not... The hammocks should be identical. I own an Ultralight. Grand Trunk no longer sells it with carabines (the REI one may be old stock). http://store.grandtrunkgoods.com/hammocks

Hello all, new member here. Thought I would chime in and shed a little light on the GT hammocks. I own a shop and sell the same hammocks and here is the difference. The "Ultralight" hammock is a thinner material and has a rating of 250lbs and comes with "S" hooks and no tree straps. The regular single GT hammock is a thicker material, has the steel caribeeners, and comes with the tree straps. The Ultralights normally retail around $20 to $25 and the Single hammocks normally retail around $49 to $54. Also, you can buy the "tree slings" from GT and they normally retail for $17.99. Hope this helps in your buying decisions. Jerred
