Question Suggestion for a childs hammock?

I have an almost 11 yr old that likes my hammock so I'm thinking that something like that may be nice for Christmas.

Any suggestions on a hammock with bugnet without going too expensive? He's only about 65 lbs, so, anything out there shouldn't have any problem holding him, hehe.

    Thanks in advance,
    Kirk

    HH Scout

The HH Scout is available for $80 after their 20% scouting discount. It's a solid hammock, everything including bug net and tarp are integrated.

    Kirk,

A couple come to mind, a Grand Trunks Skeeter Beeter would probably work and would have an integral bug net as would a HH Scout which at his size may be the easiest and would include a rain fly and suspension.

See the referenced thread. I just made four for the grand kids using Just Jeff's dimensions 75x45. Super easy and I will make a draped bug net next spring. Material was 1.1 ripstop from The Rain Shed.

+1 on the DIY hammock. it is something the kids will treasure more than a store bought one. I try to DIY all my gear.

If budget is a hefty concern, consider combining something like these two items:

    and

    or even one of these

yes. i have that hammock from hammock bliss. we love it. it is my 15 year olds hammock. may have to get him a new different hammock soon as he is outgrowing it at about 5'6". i put some snakeskins on the cords so they don't tangle. the nice thing is you can zip up a sleeping bag in it with the net down and flip it over and the net holds the bag there as a makeshift uq. and i scored it used for 20 bucks. it is small enough to use the sleeping bag as a pod too. can't say enough good things about this one for littler people.
