Not such an issue in the backcountry, but when camping around other people how do you go about dressing and undressing? Changing in a hammock is rather physically awkward, while changing outside the hammock is quite socially awkward.

My tarp is big enough. I can hang it so I can stand up under it and change. If not there is always the sit with a well placed rain jacket while changing. Most of the time non of this is an issue.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
The hanger formly known as "hammock engineer".
You can change your pants while laying in a hammock. How you change your shirt is a function of the style of hammock and tarp you have.

Yep, big tarp, change fast
Not really an issue in the woods.
Maybe in town, but if you are selective on where you hang, & are aware of your surroundings there should be no problems.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.
Heh. I guess this would be an advantage of the Hennessey's bottom entry -- sit in the opening and only your legs will show.
If they haven't seen it before they won't know what it is and if they have what difference will it make - in other words just turn your back and change
In the famous words of Gomer Pile "Surprise! Surprise! Looky what I got!" LOL!

My fiance brought up this question. I figure that it will most often be just the two of us (and we'll soon be married, so it won't matter) so we can just turn away as the other changes. When there is a larger group, we are generally at an "official" campground, so there will be a bathhouse that we can utilize to change in (generally change when cleaning up in morning/night anyway).
If I really want the privacy, I expect that I can change in my hammock with the tarp pulled in close. At worst I can do as Hammock_Engineer said and use my quilt as a cover.
People always turn away when i get naked.
Peace Dutch
