Also of interest is the minimum bend radius. I ahve a feeling the ultralight carabiners are smaller than the minimum bend radius for whoopee's.

I found the deration for twists in the line to be shocking. I know with a lot of twists that it would eventually weaken the strength but, I never would have thought that only 4 twists per 3' would derate it from 10%-30%! Wow!...better make sure I don't have twists my whoopies...

I also took note of the fact that spliced loops should be a minimum of three times the length of the diameter of the item inside the loop.

And the minimum diameter for bends should be at least 3 times the diameter of the rope... But ideally 4 or more times...

For most of us in our applications there is sufficient margin that the de-rating is still allowable, but for folks pushing the limits (using Zing-it in suspensions for instance) these are good to remember and keep an eye on.

There's a lot of ignorance when it comes to ropes. Education is the best way to stay safe. Our lives are literally hanging on it.
