    I hope this is not considered hi-jacking...

    Yes, one can find 7/64 at ukhammocks, dd and on ebay. But when you want to go to thicker ropes, like 1/8 or 5/32, its difficult to impossible. 3/16 again is more popular.

    Can you name the brands of similar (or better ropes), that are easy to purchase over here ? The ones I found are all weak.

    The best I've found is English braids dynamic line in 2mm size, but they go much thicker.

    How do you mean weak?
    If its made from Dyneema sk75 fibres, theres not much difference between them for breaking strength and I've found some 'weaker' lines like Marlow D12 and the Liros to actaully wear better than Amsteel.

    Whats your intended application if you don't mind my asking? Whoopies? Tarp lines?

    I'm getting your point. Due to my lack of knowledge, i checked ropes here in DIY shops and found ropes of only 100-150 daN. Searching now for Dyneema SK75, I found ropes at 3mm from 500 daN to 900 daN (Liros Dyneema DPro). Amsteel has >1000 daN if I'm not mistaken.

    I saw the thread about the SRL for tarp and hammock and want to give it a try, but with a stronger rope for the RL, like 3 or 4 mm.

    In that case, personally, I'd go with whichever Dyneema hollow braid was most easily available. It really is a small difference between them.

    I just found this, not seen it before. Maybe available too your side of europe?http://www.armare.it/en/prodotto.php?identificatore=7

    Thanks, I found this shop in Germany :

    http://www.bootskram.com/shop/index....ROS-D-Pro.html

    Liros Magic DPro

    2mm = 0.65 / meter
    3mm = 0.79 / meter

    These prices seem reasonable. I will get myself a few meters tomorrow and see how it compares.

    For Dynema cortage (along with loads of other DIY stuff) this shop is also quite interesting: http://www.extremtextil.de/catalog/B...s:::26_48.html

    Though a bit more expensive then what Womble posted:
    Dyneema-cord, 1,5mm, 100% Dyneema 0,60 EUR/m
    Dyneema-cord, 2,5mm, 100% Dyneema 0,80 EUR/m
    Dyneema-cord, 4mm, 100% Dyneema 1,40 EUR/m
