Was that a mummy bag or a rectangular bag before the alterations?

    gtpdy,
I am interested in this thread because I bought a mislabeled down sleeping bag from Sports Authority that looks very similar to yours. They had mummy and square. I bought the square. The staff insisted they were 10 degree bags because there was a "10" somewhere on the tag, but everything was so mislabeled.

Below is a pic of the bag, a pic of the mummy price tag (sale price. I think origi price was $99) and a pic of the tag sewn to the end of the square bag. Does the tag/specs sewn to your bag look similar?

I am wondering if we have the same model bag and if so I am curious as to your low temperature results. I am considering making two UQs from mine.

I took a risk buying mine because it had no label, but that also means I got it for $19. I think I can get two 40" x 60" UQs out of it, but I'm starting to like it as a sleeping bag.
Let me know what temps you get yours down to. That may convince me to get out the scissors.

I was skeptical about temperature claims of the staff because mine had poor loft. It has fluffed up considerably since bringing it home. They keep the down bags stored as compressed as possible. The tag on mine said it was delivered January 2010 so it has been compressed for a year. I am hoping it will continue to fluff up. I am guessing it is between 450 and 600 FP with a loft of 1 - 1.5 inches.

Does your tag say the same thing as mine? "Down (80%), Fill weight 20 oz" Fill Power not specified.

Sorry to keep bothering you, but I could find no info online, at the store, on a box or from the staff so you are my only source of info.

The tag was pulled a while ago. It was my tent bag for a year or so. But I talked to my friend and he said they only had the two blue down bags like that.
so I would think mine is the same fill and what not. If you make it an uq. The extra down makes it loft nice. I have about 2.5"-3.5" of loft now.
