Thanks Les Rust. I liked this set up (meaning materials) so much that I am switching out my 1.1 quilts for new ones made of all 7D for the burrow and M55 (outer)/7D (inner) combo for the UQ. This reduces the shell weight by a bit as well as feels so silky smooth against the skin. I don't think I could ask for a better set of quilts.
I will certainly post reports as I get more use out of the quilt quilts.

How much does it increase the price? Using the 7D and the M55? over a standard quilt?

As for the cost. Ill start off by saying expensive (but don't be

). I had to source apx. 10 yards of MM55 from another vendor and have it sent to Adam. That cost a little over $200 just for the M55 alone. Then I had to pay for materials Adam was using such as the 7D and down as well as labor cost. If you are interested in a custom TQ/UQ from Adam, I would suggest calling or emailing him and asking him about prices for custom work. It varies depending on what materials he uses, size of the quilt, how big the project is and many other factors that I am surly forgetting. It is also much harder to work with 7D and M55 in comparison to 1.1 so it was not only the materials he was using but also the amount of extra time and effort he put into these quilts by working with this material. Maybe he'll chime in here, he will be able to better explain how he charges for custom work? So in short. For custom jobs I would just say to contact Adam. Sweet quilts. Why did you choose to use M55 on the outside and 7D as the inner? Is there a difference in the DWR or something?

Yep you got it. The DWR rating is a better on the M55 in comparison to the 7D. Adam suggested to use the M55 for the outer shell because it will better help protect the UQ from the wind stealing it's heat as well as any splash that may get underneath the tarp and hit the UQ. Technically speaking the M55 is also a thicker material then the 7D. The outer shell is the most exposed part of the quilt set and the M55 will better help protect the exposed part of the quilt.

On the cordlock glitch. If finding larger cord-locks is a hassle, maybe few neat and strong stitches to narrow the entrance / exit of the channel would be an equal remedy?

Thats a pretty good idea, and would be lighter than the cord lock! You hear that gram wheenie you don't have to go with the heavier cord lock!!!
