    Test hang tonight

Tonight is my first test hang and what a night to hang. There are 22mph winds and the low tonight is around 35f.

    Tarp- camo superfly
    Hammock- eno doublenest
    UQ- DIY insulate uq

I will be hanging in my small backyard, the fence will block most of the wind.

That sounds like a hoot. Good luck with the wind in that setup.(is that a strong setup?)
I need to make a bugnet here before I can do the same.

It is very strong. One end is attached to a telephone pole and the other is on a DIY stand pole.

Looks like a good setup spot to be out of the wind. Have a peaceful, warm, and comfy evening. Will be looking for a report in the morning!

    Thumbs up

    Have a great hang..
I like your set up.. Is the pole anchored to concrete? Man that is a very cool idea.

The pole is on top of a piece of wood that has been routed out so that the pole won't slip, there are also two steel stakes going threw the wood into the ground. The support ropes are attached with rockbuster stakes.

The trick that I did is connect a piece of paracord from the telephone pole to the DIY stand, so that it would help to take some of the stress off the stakes.

Some people's first nights are not the greatest until they get things tweaked, other people's first nights they sleep right through so keep that in mind. Hope you have a good one!

Test hanging new equipment is nearly as fun as taking it out in the wild. Figuring out all the little things that make it fit you and your setup just right is always a fun task to me
