    Heavier duty thread injector

I was given a Husqvarna 610 by a friend and was told right from the start that the buttonhole feature does not work. Come to find out that the machine, although it will sew, has other problems. As a result of a broken plastic ring/cam, or whatever it is, down inside.

Would like to get a new machine and have been looking, but there is sooo many choices. Would like to get something heavier duty, without breaking the bank! I admit that the Husqvarna will do four layers of ripstop, which I guess is pretty good. But still would like to get something stronger.

Had a look at the Singer HD110. Mostly the reviews are good. Is anybody here using one?
Or. What kind of heavier duty do you have that you would recommend?
    TIA

See what it would cost to fix the husky... it is a beast of a machine and could very well be worth the investment.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Hi Rr - Yes, considered that, but the machine is getting on in years and I would be surprised if the part was available. Even if it was, the "part' is right in among the heart of the gears/associated cams. I believe a complete disassembly of that section would be necessary. I can't see that being a "minor' repair job. A new machine might just be cheaper. You are right though, it is a beast of a machine and was great to learn on, pretty forgiving of a newbie!

You might be surprised. You won't know until you ask. And besides, as the Rev said, its whole of machine, it might be worth the investment.

Hey, if you don't repair that machine I'll buy it from you, we have a Husky dealer locally whom I'm certain can fix the machine. From my Grandmother's experience her Hucky Rose is very sensitive to being moved. It must be very gently transported or the cams become misaligned. She's had to have this down a few times and today it is mounted to her sewing table.

Yes the repair may cost a couple hundred dollars, but would worth it IMHO.
