well having seen and layed in bf2's...

i might steal it next trip

i re-did my wbbb ridgeline with zing it-- head end is about a 16" continuous loop, the footend line has 2 spliced eyes... the 2 are married with a nacrabiner... so to lose the ridgeline for lounging.

seriously, i want one. that thing is awesome. and lite!

One more thing i was curious about was the distribution of colors...i have a 1.1 oz. olive green El Dorado, but some people have the lime green "Kermit" edition. Anyone know how many of each were made? Which color is more rare?

No idea about the colors. Mine looks like Grizz's from the video above.

I also have a DL Traveler that WB made about the same time from the same material. I think there were only a couple of those.

Mine is of the Kermit green variety; single layer 1.9.

    Mods include:
    Structural ridgeline
    Removal of foot tie-out
    Addition of a RL organizer

That's about it. I have a lot of nights spent in mine and it is still one of my most favorite hammocks. Best of breed for sure, in my mind. It's going to be a very sad day for me when it finally goes wherever hammocks go when they fail. Luckily, it doesn't look to be anytime in the near future.

Congrats on the new-to-you hammock bigfoot2!

Thanks, Cannibal (showing secret hand signal that only El Dorado owners know )...

How did you go about adding the structural ridge line...HC4U's two knot method, or...?

I did it a little different, since I put it on at the same time as the whoopie slings.

I just made a ridgeline with fixed-eye splices on either end, and ran it through the middle of the whipping on both ends. Then, each loop is lark's headed around the buried part of the whoopie sling, right above the whipping.

I did use HC4U's two knot method. It has worked fine and will probably last as long as the hammock. But, if I were to ever make another big change to that hammock (not likely), I would probably take the time to set it the way angrysparrow described above.
