    Second Annual Oregon Summer Hang.

    OK...where, when and who's coming?
I vote for Waldo Lake. Car camping, paddling, the Waldo Lake Wilderness next door. We could have a group car camp the first night and everyone could break off after that.
Middle of August sound good (less bugs)?

By the way, Mat from UK Hammocks will be coming to this one...all the way from Northern England

PS--And of course we have to have a raffle to raise money for the HF

IIRC, the Waldo Lake campground is usually pretty packed and is very tent-oriented. It's right on the edge of the lake, though, which is cool.

I really liked that we had to hike a bit in on the last one.
And there are endless spots up there around waldo and 3 sisters.
Even if we only hiked in a mile it would make a large difference.

I would suggest throwing this thread in the "trip planning" section.

Any who, I like to do 2 bigger hiking trips a year and one will for sure be in the Linville gorge in May. However I am debating between going to Colorado and Oregon later in the summer.

Is this going to be just a car camping trip or will there be hiking? If it's just car camping, do you guys know if there will be another group hang that involves hiking.

I do have a friend from ships who lives in Portland, so regardless I'll post before I head out and maybe some of us Hfers can go get some grub while I'm in town.

I already have plans for Aug 23 - Sept 2. Hiking in the Sierras sometime in mid-Sept. Italy in early Oct. If it is held in mid Aug, I could possibly make it. As for where, I agree with a short hike, even just a mile. Lakes are nice, as is paddling, but not what I want to do when I hang with you guys. I want to sit by a fire, tell tall tales, drink good scotch, and enjoy seeing other hangers gear.

I agree we need to move this to the Planning area, so maybe the Mods can assist us.
