Mors Kochanski Non-Inverting Slipped Bowline Hammock Suspension

Introducing the Mors Kochanski Non-Inverting Slippery Bowline Hammock Suspension.

Mors showed us this knot at the Wilderness Living Skills Total Emersion [sic] course, and it occurred to me that it would be ideal for a hammock suspension using no hardware at all. I made a few hammocks for folks attending the Winter Camping Symposium in MN, and this knot turned out to be a reliable and simple way hang a hammock. Check it out!

So, what do you do with your Dutch Buckles if your hammock suspension uses no hardware? You make Dutch Buckle Art! (see my sculptures below)

    That's an amazing find MacEntyre.

Have you tried it in suspension rope yet? Preferably non-Amsteel. Does it undo easily?

PS: will MoMA be showing your DutchWare art anytime soon?

Great knot, nicely explained and demonstrated! I may go back to webbing suspensions. In use, how did it do as far as adjusting sag? It's clearly easy to take out and retie, but for a winter setup with quilts on/in hammock does it become difficult to tie when the trees are far apart and you need to use a SRL?

    Nice looking knot!
I have a mesh type hammock I've had in my old camping junk
    (maybe from Coleman?)
there's a rope that is attached from each end that comes directly from the hammock

Shug we coul do this using cord through a tree strap. It would function the same as your whoopie sling but with less cord needed (weight savings!)
